Tumukurate Judith is a 35 year old mother of three children; two handsome boys, and one beautiful little girl. She is a member of the Karubanda Women's Group and is the treasurer for the group.
Judith works as the caretaker for Margaret & Emma where she helps maintain the office and properties. She is also the office attendant and helps oversee the crafts shop. She is also a skilled tailor, and we hope she will be able to help our tailoring trainees.
In a recent interview, Judith shared her amazing story with us. In her own words: "At Margaret & Emma Organization, I was taught important life skills such as baking and crafts making. This has made all the difference. As an employee of the organization, I have had the chance to make money for myself through which I bought a sewing machine for my tailoring business."
Judith joined M&E as a caretaker for the property, and quickly took on more responsibilities. She works hard, and does a wonderful job keeping the office in order, overseeing the crafts shop, and maintaining her tailoring work. She is now able to provide for her family, pay her children's school fees, and run her own tailoring business. When she isn't tidying the office, you can find Judith working on her tailoring projects while overseeing the crafts shop.
Judith's story is one of overcoming hardship, perseverance, and inspiring others to keep working towards their goals. Stories like hers motivate us to continue working to support the most vulnerable.
